We’ve been putting steel to good use for more than 55 years now.

The Culpan Group is a family enterprise that began in 1969 as R Culpan & Sons, a niche metalworking business in Airport West, Melbourne. Over the decades, the company evolved from steel sales and structural fabrication to precision sheet metal manufacturing, launching the Stronghold steel storage brand along the way.

In 2012, the acquisition of commercial joinery company AMD Commercial Furniture allowed us to expand our product offering, integrating both timber and steel manufacturing under one roof at our purpose-built facility in Campbellfield.
Recognising the growing need for safe charging, storage, and transport systems for lithium batteries, we introduced the Batteryhold range in 2019 to address this crucial market demand. In 2025, we further expanded by adding Lockin, a premium custom locker brand, to complement our group.

Today, The Culpan Group designs and manufactures purpose-built products across Australia and New Zealand. Through our brands, we serve businesses, schools, healthcare providers, recreation facilities, community organisations, government agencies, industry, managed garment services, and emergency services.

When we’re not busy making steel furniture, we love chatting with our customers to create amazing solutions. Here are some of the queries we’re often asked about our products.

Do you import your products or make them?

We believe in Australian made. All our products are made in Melbourne at our purpose-built facility in Campbellfield.

Warranty?

The shortcut answer is if we make it, we guarantee it for 10 years. This guarantee covers faults in materials and workmanship but does not include damage from normal wear and tear or improper use. However, some components—such as locks or other parts supplied by third-party manufacturers—have a separate warranty, typically one year. Consumable parts like batteries are also excluded from the 10-year coverage. Make sure to read the T&C’s for the full details.

Can you make customised sizes?

Yes. Most of our products can be made a bit taller, a bit wider or not quite so deep. We can do the redesign in-house. Just talk to us to let us know what you need and we can provide you with a quote.

Can I choose a colour?

Absolutely! We offer a wide range of high-quality colours and finishes from Laminex and Polytec, powdercoats from Dulux, along with other options from other trusted suppliers. Choose from our popular Standard or Premium Ranges, or customise with a colour match to fit your brand or design. Simply let us know your requirements, and we’ll provide a quote.

What is the production lead time?

We understand the importance of quick delivery, so we manage production and supply chains to minimise lead times. Lead times can range from a few weeks to longer, depending on materials and demand. The production lead time will be included in your written quote and confirmed with your order.

How do I get a quote?

Once you’ve found the product that most fits what you need, simply click the ‘Get A Quote’ button on any of the product pages on this website and complete the form. Alternatively, complete the ‘Get in touch’ form published in the footer. You can also call us directly. We typically respond within 2-3 business days, though quotes for large projects may take longer because of their complexity. If you have a commercial account, you can request a price list for quick costings on standard items by contacting us directly.

Do you deliver?

Yes, we deliver to most metropolitan Melbourne locations, and delivery costs will be included in your quote. For other destinations, we can arrange freight. Alternatively, you can book a pickup from our loading dock at our production site in Campbellfield.

Can you deliver directly to my customer?

Yes, we can arrange delivery directly to your client or a third party. We’ll ensure no invoice is included with the goods, allowing you to invoice your customer directly.
